"Who's the tabby belong to?" Jake Clawson, Second in command of Cathedral, asked the forekat of their urban training facility construction project.
"Him? I think we got him from a private owner. A tiger, I think. I'd have to check the register."
"Do," he nodded, his gaze lingering on the muscular tom working in a group of slaves just like him. "How has he been doing?"
"I wish they were all like him," the kat replied, flicking through the registration papers for the workers. "He's built like he was made of bricks, and he hauls them like they were foam. Ah, here it is. He is a private slave, owned by a tom named Steven Waters. Address here in the city."
"Behavior issues?" Jake started to really consider the tom.
"None on the sheet. I think Robins said she had to lash him a few times, but I haven't had any trouble."
"Would you say he's worth picking up?"
"Hell yeah, but I don't think Waters will sell."
"Oh?" Jake raised a very curious eyebrow. For the price Cathedral paid for a good slave, very few weren't happy to.
"You think I didn't think of it? We need more grunts like that."
"So any clue why Waters won't sell?" He asked with a dangerous gleam in his amber eyes for the beginning of a plan.
"I didn't ask," the kat shook his head. "Gotta put that tabby to good use while we've got him."
"Yes, definitely" Jake nodded. "I'll see what can be done about more permanent arrangements."
"You'll have to be lucky boss," the kat said with a smirk, turning his attention back towards the workers.
"I make my own luck," he smirked back and turned to set Intel on what could be used acquire the tabby.
